While I’m sitting by the phone, one of the projects on my desk is the design for a new 700-page college textbook on environmental science for W.H. Freeman. Wishing to tap my DK/Eyewitness experience, the publisher is looking for a visually stimulating, approachable design that keeps students engaged with academically rigorous material. As the project’s development editor recently noted to the author, “I can’t tell you how pleased I am with Tom’s work. It’s probably one of the most beautiful textbook designs I have seen.”
